WORCESTERSHIRE COUNTY JUNIORS
Here at WBA, we pride ourselves in providing high quality coaching and opportunities for all badminton juniors within Worcestershire. Within the county set-up we have a committed team of qualified coaches with many years of experience both playing and coaching as well as a dedicated committee who are always on the look out for potential talent and providing gateways into the county set-up. In addition to this, the county boasts a whole host of local clubs that provide beginner and intermediate coaching on a weekly basis during term times.
The combination of our committee and coaches, as well as local clubs, creates a robust mechanism for our juniors within the county to really progress with their game and find a path through to the highest level.
As mentioned above, Worcestershire County boasts a host of junior beginner and intermediate clubs that are all voluntarily ran by experienced badminton players and coaches. These sessions tend to be a very good introduction to the game with simple drills, rules, movement exercises and followed by fun games and activities. These clubs are located all around the county so please use the link to our clubs to find a suitable location for you!
County Coaching
Our county training is a much more structured and targeted approach for our players and will definitely push them to improve. As a result, juniors joining the county set-up should have a real passion for the game and desire to improve their badminton as well as wanting to compete with other talented players. Players who do this and improve can then be selected to represent county in their age group with fellow juniors forming a county team to challenge other county’s as well as compete in tournaments and the ICT.
These opportunities give our young players goals and direction to further their badminton journey and allows us to support in shaping them into the players they wish to become. From these experiences we have had many players, who have committed to the county junior training sessions, become the best players in the county and compete at exceptionally high levels.
We will always welcome passionate badminton players so please get in touch on worcestershirecounty@gmail.com if you feel you/ your child would be eligible to play for the county. As mentioned above, our coaches at the clubs and our committee are always on the lookout for new talent so we may come head hunting also!
You must live in the County of Worcestershire to be eligible to play for our county. If you are unsure, please get in touch!
